Mid-April's gray skies in my neighborhood on the way to work Thursday morning...
Um, shouldn't there be more leaves on the trees by now? And only one flower has bloomed in my garden. But the neighbor's house, as usual, is in perfectly-manicured bloom. But her trees are bare too.
I found Charm City via Lefsetz. Browse through, the designs are amazing, no matter how good/bad the cakes actually taste.
Hard to pick a favorite but the Exorcist cake really jumps out, green vomit and all.

Saw this sign again on i-95 heading to Florida the old fashioned way in December. Sr. Pedro makes the trip feel longer with his countdowns, but this one makes me laugh.

I don't speak his language yet but he's very cool. Of course he's also an arrogant bastard who insists on using fancy terminology and being all mysterious with his "settings."
In the meantime my point-and-shoot still loves me...

This was at Saddles Restaurant in Sonoma last week.
I took a few snaps out in Maryland this weekend with a promise to myself to get out and capture the foliage in October with the SLR.
The fields are so dry the grass and cornstalks practically crackled in the breeze. 
... this morning, so I stopped and took some pictures of my garden. Hell, I was already late so why not? The flowers made me smile.
Snapped this at the grocery store Saturday. I didn't buy any. The sign intimidated me.
We were greeted by an oasis in the middle of Changi airport in Singapore. It's also an amazing shopping mall with a mix of high-end stores and tourist shops.
Today marks the first anniversary of Rose's death. We were on vacation in Maine when she passed and my mom insisted we stay there, to the point of not even calling right away. She’d been taking care of her sister for almost two years by that point, and we were as prepared as possible, including a memorial service.
Now mom's dealing with her own mother's failing health.
Mortality can be a real bummer.
Snapped my friend's hand under the ultraviolet light at the nail salon a couple of weeks ago.
I was maddeningly bored so took random shots with my new Canon PowerShot SD900. I am ready to declare my love for this little bugger. A little pricey but the quality is exactly what I need in a point & shoot.
I've been meaning to snap this picture for over a week... I love that we're going into the cold weather and the flowers are blooming so bright. They did well in the cold this weekend.
The garden is a bit scraggly but is much improved from last year and will be even better next year. Yeah, that's right.
