That's an actual TXT I received from a so-called friend who taunts my love for Cookie's music.
But hecklers beware: David Cook's likely to win tomorrow.
And if he doesn't, it's potentially an even bigger win: No immediate contract with a specified promoter, doing what the promoter says, when and where the promoter says to do whatever American Idols do.
It's a win-win situation. So there.
David Archuleta has a nice voice. For a nasally seventeen-year-old who sounds the same on every-single-song and never breaks out of his comfort zone. Yawn.
Predictably, the judges were mad for Archie tonight. Especially Randy. And while he was the best of the first set, it wasn't a stretch: Jason was a disaster, Cook was off his game, and Syesha was auditioning for Broadway again.
Don't worry, David Cook - the entire show was off tonight, not just you. But way to blow rock-n-roll week, guy.
She may have fallen back onto the crazy train, but Paula was right – Jason’s second song did suck. But who could follow a stupefying pre-performance pan?
The cynic in me wonders if Abdul’s behavior – coupled with a pronounced format change for the judges' feedback – was a pre-scripted ploy to drive some Internet buzz. The mega ratings are sagging, you know.
It’s more likely Paula was thrown by the format and had written notes in advance, based on rehearsals, to help when the time came.
Regardless. By prescription, non-prescript (gasp) or nicely spiked Coke, she was clearly high. Huzzah!
Carly blew an opportunity with her redition of Superstar. I like her strong, rock-vibe voice, but she didn't own this song the way she could have.
Jessus Christ Superstar is one of the few musical soundtracks I love and listen to a couple of times a year. When she switched to this song, I expected Carly would connect with the music. Not so much... although I didn't think she'd get voted off for her take. Oh, well. I'm often a bit askew from the final vote.
I stuck with the plan not to watch the American Idol results shows last week.
But after the show tunes I'm curious, so I set my DVR. I won't be home to watch live, so technically I'm sticking with my plan.
David Cook is my favorite of the bunch. He has incredible range, which was fully on display last night, even if not perfectly executed.
Brooke? She's a better actress than she is a singer. I liked her in the beginning but as the performers around her improve, she's vied for the sympathy vote each week. The eyes, the shrugs, the tears. Not so hot on he singing.
I don't believe Brooke forgot the words last night.
The false start was part of the game.
Still, I think the least winning performance of the night was Syesha who neglected to add anything contemporary. She's been auditioning for Broadway for a few weeks now anyway, so maybe it works out.
Bottom three: Jason, Syesha, Brooke. My (non) vote goes to Brooke.
Idol gives back. Suzie gives up.
Tonight's elimination of Michael Johns perfectly illustrates why American Idol drives me crazy. Far too soon for someone as fetching and talented to be let go. (Fetching?)
The kids are voting!
Anti-Idolers are teaming to force the results.
The song choice was that bad?
Not to mention the telethon of force-fed charity.
But given the options, how could Johns be next?
I'm not watching anymore. After next week.
Love the two ‘Britain's Got Talent’ videos that made the rounds yesterday: A cutie pie with amazing pitch and a regular bloke who's an opera savant.
Let's sing-song together: "Their show's better than oooour show."
No bragging rights for me tonight.
The finale was fun but all over the place, much like the season itself. Seeing the top 12 tonight reminded me how dull things were until the last few weeks.
Joe Perry and what's-his-name was painful.
I love Green Day.
I predict Blake will win tonight.
He's not the better singer, but he is entertaining (and not in the spazzy-Taylor way). I think he has more fans. More fans = more phone calls. Ring!
It's not a very brave position. I'm either wrong or I earn bragging rights. BFD.
Still... Go, Blake!
I’m so glad Blake made it to Idol’s top 3. Given his less-than-mediocre performance this week I wasn't sure. But, I'll echo the majority in saying this week generally sucked. The Bee Gees? Blah.
Hopefully they infuse some life into the final shows.
Loved this week's show. Yes, Jordin sucked. JBJ is cool.
I thought Chris would be one of the two exiting... but seeing Blake & Chris as "the two" and later all teary was sad. In fact, it was the first time all season I got teary myself, unlike the last couple of seasons when just about all the top 12 exiters could make me cry.
Either I'm getting bitchier or the tonality of AI is completely changed. Maybe both.
I recognize this week's theme was tough but that's no excuse for the mediocre crap you presented tonight. Be sure to thank Blake for giving the show a needed dose of energy and style.
The barbie styling head's performance was decent. Really. He sounded better than most of you.
I hope you're thoroughly ashamed of yourselves.
XOXO
Suzie
Watching her perform tonight was like an 80s basement-rock flashback.
Totally Justine Bateman doing Joan Jett. Ugh.
