'Tis the season for catalogs

Gadgets, shoes, clothes, furniture, cookies, flowers ... if there's a catalog, it will inevitably appear in my mailbox. Today I received five -- Signals ("gifts that enlighten, inform and entertain"), Mrs. Fields, Fannie May, Coach and Red Envelope.

I'm sorry they're wasting all those trees when (I imagine) catalog shoppers are a rising minority. Aren't they?
