The children come out at night

There's something hinky about my neighbors. Every evening after dusk, rain or shine, the kids come out to play. They are from three different houses and range in age from 6 to 10(ish). There's four to six kids playing at one time, depending on who comes out.

Spring, summer, fall - it's the same routine. The kids come out to play in the winter too but not every night. I guess the cold keeps them in. Not the dark.

Fall and spring aside, it's bright outside until at least 9pm at the height of summer - yet the kids are nowhere to be seen all evening then come out after sunset. I don't believe any of the kids are allergic to the sun because they come out during the day.

Tonight they came out again right after sunset despite the fact that it was raining.

Another neighbor and I were talking about this a few weeks ago and asked each other why we never asked one of the parents. We decided the answer would be too boring.

I'm filing this one under aliens. Hey, you never know.
