Bionic boop-boop-booping
Remember that sound? Steve Austin would train his eye on something and the "boop, boop, boop" sound would tell us the bionics had kicked-in. (Kitschy 70s music played when he ran in slow-mo.)
The show was on when I was 10 and younger but I loved it. I particularly enjoyed his bionic lady friend Jamie and her bionic german shepard. Clearly I was a little bionic geek.
I heard the boop-boop every time I saw this story today. Now I'm hearing it again. This is not a good sign.
Of course this is all to say the bionic arm story is a fascinating glimpse at a first generation solution that will probably morph very quickly into something much more sophisticated.
